Ted Smale and Jon Jewitt, Directors of Sunningwell Command Control Ltd, are first and foremost railway modellers. In the mid-nineties Ted researched the various digital systems available, decided that Digitrax offered the best combination of price and performance, purchased a system and installed it. In 1998 he established SCC to import the best digital command control system for like-minded modellers. Jon’s interests balance the growing capabilities of DCC with the practical needs of modellers at all levels. The SCC range has expanded greatly over the years.
Thank you and Farewell
After 28 years of business Ted and Jon have decided to retire and concentrate on the modelling which has taken a back seat during this time.
We would both like to thank all our customers that have supported us over the years, many of whom we now regard as friends. During our time we have watched and been a part of the evolution of DCC and the hobby as a whole. DCC has changed from what was a seen as a new fad and dismissed by many model manufacturers, to a very significant part of the hobby. Model railway shows are a lot more noisier now we have sound!
We leave the business side of the hobby on a high, and look forward to seeing you all when we visit shows as a customer, or hopefully in the near future with our own exhibition layouts, which will be a full circle moment as this is where the two of us met and became friends.
